InNature Foundation

Investing in communities that connect people with nature.

Nature has the power to transform lives. Through outdoor recreation, stewardship, and community leadership, InNature Foundation invests in the people and places that make those experiences possible.

Our Belief

We believe nature is essential to healthy people and thriving communities.

Whether someone finds joy on a mountain bike, hiking a favorite trail, trail running through a forest, or simply taking a walk close to home, time spent outdoors strengthens our connection to ourselves, to one another, and to the places we share.

Yet these experiences don’t happen by accident. Behind every trail, park, and natural space are people who envision them, build them, care for them, and ensure they remain welcoming for future generations.

InNature Foundation exists to invest in those people, organizations, and communities.

Our Vision

A future where every community has meaningful access to nature and every person has the opportunity to experience the lifelong benefits of the outdoors.

Our Mission

To inspire healthier people, stronger communities, and a deeper connection to nature by investing in outdoor recreation, stewardship, and the places that bring us together.

Our Philosophy

Nature connects us.

At InNature Foundation, we believe that nature is more than a destination — it is where people reconnect with themselves, with one another, and with the world around them.

Research continues to affirm what many people have always known: time spent outdoors supports physical health, emotional resilience, creativity, and a greater sense of belonging.

Rather than focusing on a single activity, InNature supports human-powered outdoor recreation as a pathway to healthier lives and stronger communities. Trails are often the gateway, but the true outcome is connection.

Our work is guided by four enduring connections.

Connection to

Self

Nature supports physical health, mental well-being, confidence, and personal growth.

Connection to

Others

Shared outdoor experiences strengthen families, friendships, and communities.

Connection to

Places

People protect what they know and love. Stewardship begins by experiencing and appreciating the places around us.

Connection to

The Future

The investments we make today create opportunities for those who will follow us tomorrow.

About

Our Story

When people experience nature, lives change.

For decades, our founder has worked alongside communities to create trails and outdoor spaces that improve quality of life. Those experiences revealed an important truth: trails are never just about recreation. They become places where people discover confidence, strengthen relationships, improve their health, volunteer together, and develop a lasting commitment to the landscapes they love.

InNature Foundation builds upon that lifetime of experience by investing in the organizations and communities creating those opportunities for others.

Why Nature?

Nature has an extraordinary ability to bring people together.

It improves physical and emotional health. It inspires curiosity. It builds resilience. It reminds us that we are part of something larger than ourselves. Trails, parks, open spaces, and public lands are among the most accessible gateways to these experiences.

At InNature Foundation, we believe that investing in nature is ultimately an investment in people.

Children discover confidence.

Families spend time together.

Volunteers become stewards.

Communities grow stronger.
